Asheville’s Green Building School is a program of AB Tech, officially known as A-B Tech’s Construction Science program. Therefore, costs for the program are the same as costs for all A-B Tech programs. Here is information on A-B Tech’s Tuition and Fees. 

Students are not enrolled until tuition and fees are paid.

Students planning to use financial aid to pay tuition and fees must follow the procedure set up by the Financial Aid Office.

North Carolina Residents

• Semester (16 or more credit hours): $672.00
• per credit hour (15 or fewer credit hours): $42.00
• North Carolina residents 65 years of age or older are exempted from payment of tuition for curriculum courses.

Nonresidents

• Semester (16 or more credit hours): $3732.80
• per credit hour (15 or fewer credit hours): $233.30

Fees*

• Accident Insurance: $1.30
• Student Activity Fee
• 9 or more day, on-campus credit hours (fall and spring): $14.00
• 9 or more day, on-campus credit hours (summer): $10.00
• 1-8 day, on-campus credit hours (fall and spring): $10.00
• 1-8 day, on-campus credit hours (summer): $6.00
• Technology Fee (maximum $16 per semester): $1.00/credit hour

Student Activity Fees

The student activity fee will be charged each semester based upon the number of credit hours taken during the day at the Asheville campus.

Computer Use and Technology Fee

For Curriculum students, a computer use and technology fee will be charged each semester based upon the number of credit hours taken at the rate of $1 per credit hour to a maximum of $16.

Student Insurance

Certain risks are inherent in any work involving regular contact with mechanical and electrical equipment. While stringent precautions will be taken to ensure safety, it is felt to be in the interest of all students to provide some measure of insurance protection. A group policy, providing the desired insurance protection, will be maintained in effect by the College and all students will be REQUIRED to subscribe to such coverage.
